Infosys looks at revenues crossing $1bn in `04
Bangalore, Oct 11: In 1999, Infosys` revenues were a modest $121m and the company lagged behind rival Wipro in the numbers game. Two years ago, revenues hit the $500m mark. The year `04 will see revenues exceed the critical $1bn mark.
The growth posted by the company reaffirms its market leadership and the power of its global delivery model, said Nandan M Nilekani, CEO, president and MD at a press meet to announce the July-September quarter results.
TCS became the first domestic IT vendor to touch the $1bn mark when it made Rs 5,012 crore from domestic and export earnings last fiscal.
Its export earnings were Rs 4,545 crore. Nilekani said that growth continues to be strong and pricing is showing signs of stability. Several new strategic clients are coming in and many among them are showing signs of growing into multi-million dollar customers. Infosys has 347 active clients, three of them are $40m customers and five are $30m. Some 119 are $1m clients.
