Agartala, May 28: Twenty four insurgents of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) have surrendered and deposited arms and ammunition to CRPF, police said today. Of the 24, eleven were hardcore and their names were included in the lists of insurgents.
The ultras laid down arms to the commandant of 5th Battalion CRPF, Surat Singh at Amarpur in south Tripura district yesterday.
They deposited one AK-47 rifle, one AK-57 rifle, one carbine, 341 rounds of live cartridges and three Chinese grenades.
