New Delhi, Aug 12: In the wake of TDSAT judgement permitting WLL services, COAI executive council will meet on Tuesday to discuss its strategy and a decision on "follow-up" action is likely to be taken during the week.
"The executive council will meet on Tuesday to discuss the issue, but it will take two to three rounds of discussions to finalise a strategy," Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI) director general T V Ramachandran told reporters here. Ramachandran said that "follow-up action" would be chalked out during the week.
COAI executive council includes cellular companies like Bharti, Idea, Escotel, Hutch, Hexacom and BPL amongst other.
Asked if COAI meeting would also consider going for legal redressal, he said "we would look into all aspects".

The COAI executive council meeting assumes significance as the association has, till now, maintained that cellular industry and stake holders "will study the WLL order in detail and after proper advice and consultation, decide on the next course of action".

However, last week the legal counsels of some cellular operators had indicated that players are likely to consider moving Supreme Court against the TDSAT order.

Recently Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) had permitted WLL services in the country by a majority 2:1 judgement.
