Islamabad, Aug 20: Pakistan's information minister called on India today to not to hold elections in Kashmir saying they would be a sham. Addressing Kashmiris outside of Parliament, Nisar Memon said Pakistan would only support elections in Kashmir after a referendum allowing Kashmiris to choose between India, Pakistan or independence.
Speaking on "Pakistan Solidarity Day", Memon also repeated Pakistan's call for international mediation to end the Kashmir dispute.
"The whole world is now involved and understands the gravity of the problem. Unless the (Kashmir) issue is resolved, peace can't return to South Asia," the Associated Press of Pakistan quoted him as saying. Bureau Report
