New Delhi, Nov 24: A city court today granted
custody parole to senior IPS officer and prime accused in the
Shivani Bhatnagar murder case R K Sharma to enable him to
undergo an angiography test as advised by doctors.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Sunil Gaur granted
Sharma custody parole and allowed him to get the test done at
his own expense at the escorts hospital here.
The court directed the Tihar Jail superintendent to produce Sharma in the hospital before noon tomorrow and on dates specified by the doctor.
Though the prosecution did not oppose the accused's plea for taking the test, it did raise a point as to why the same could not be conducted at AIIMS.
The court had earlier directed the Tihar Jail doctor to submit a report on the medical condition of Sharma.
The reply stated that the accused had been complaining of chest pain following which he was admitted to the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
From there, he was then referred to AIIMS and for further tests.
The doctor then prescribed angiography to ascertain the extent of Sharma's illness.
Meanwhile, the court also directed the escorts medical superintendent to report directly to it with status reports of Sharma's health.
