Amarmani`s judicial remand extended
Lucknow, Oct 20: Former Uttar Pradesh minister and prime accused in Madhumita Shukla murder case, Amarmani Tripathi, will challenge the DNA report in sessions court here today. His judicial custody has been extended by 14 days till Nov 03.
Lucknow, Oct 20: Former Uttar Pradesh minister and prime accused in Madhumita Shukla murder case, Amarmani Tripathi, will challenge the DNA report in sessions court here today. His judicial custody has been extended by 14 days till Nov 03.
According to Tripathi, the report has been tampered with. Earlier, the report confirmed that Tripathi`s DNA matched with that of the foetus in Madhumita`s womb at the time of her murder.
Amarmani`s counsel V K Shahi will appear in place of him for the application.
According to V K Shahi, Tripathi`s counsel, till now there was no direct evidence of Tripathi`s involvement in the murder of the poetess.
"The CBI investigations are merely based on suspicion as far as Amarmani Tripathi`s involvement is concerned in the case," Shahi added.
Earlier on October six, the CBI court had dismissed a similar bail application moved by Tripathi. Bureau Report
According to V K Shahi, Tripathi`s counsel, till now there was no direct evidence of Tripathi`s involvement in the murder of the poetess.
