Kozhikode, Dec 03: A group of activists allegedly belonging to the CPI-M attacked the office of leading vernacular daily "Malayala Manorama" while they were returning from a protest march here today.
According to police, the activists who were on their way back from the office of Inspector General of Police, where they staged a demonstration demanding a judicial probe into Thursday's violent incidents involving SFI activists and police, suddenly laid siege to the newspaper office and began hurling stones at it. Windowpanes of the office were smashed in the attack, the sources said.
Although a police team, led by Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Patjoshi reached the spot, the culprits had fled by then, police added.
