Jan 03: Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock has won the Nationwide Division Two manager of the month award for December. It is the second time in three months the former Scotland international has won the award after he took the honour in October.

Sturrock has steered Plymouth to four successive wins during the month which has put them top.

"The players are working very hard for each other," said Sturrock.
He added: "It's been difficult to select the team as all the players have performed brilliantly

"We have put in a lot of effort to get where we are but it is easier getting to the top than staying there.

"We got the kiss of death the last time we won the award - we didn't win one of our next four games.

"If we win the award again in April than I hope we will be there or thereabouts."
