LS passes supplementary demands for grants
New Delhi, Aug 18: Lok Sabha today passed supplementary demands for grants totalling Rs 8,519 crore for additional expenditure for this fiscal, including writing-off of Rs 1,573 crore loan to IFCI for its restructuring and Rs 607 crore to states for payment of dues to sugarcane growers.
New Delhi, Aug 18: Lok Sabha today passed supplementary demands for grants totalling Rs 8,519 crore for additional expenditure for this fiscal, including writing-off of Rs 1,573 crore loan to IFCI for its restructuring and Rs 607 crore to states for payment of dues to sugarcane growers.
The supplementary demands for 29 grants involves a net
cash outgo of Rs 5,580 crore as the remaining Rs 2939 crore is
to be met through savings and enhanced receipts and
recoveries.
The supplementary demands for grants moved by Finance Minister Jaswant Singh was passed by voice vote after leaders of political parties agreed to clear it today without discussion in the face of the House taking up the Opposition sponsored no-confidence motion. Bureau Report
