Wimbledon,June 26:Marat Safin opens proceedings on Centre Court on Wednesday in a little-and-large encounter.
Second seed Safin is 6ft 4in tall, while his opponent Olivier Rochus is, at 5ft 5in, the smallest player on the ATP tour.
But Rochus packs a punch in his tiny frame, as his older brother will attest.
Olivier beat Christophe Rochus in the first round, but then he was only giving away two inches in height, as opposed to the 11 he will concede to Safin.
Jennifer Capriati follows against Spain's Marta Marrero, with Andre Agassi taking on Thailand's Paradorn Srichaphan in the last game scheduled on Centre Court.
After surprise defeats for Roger Federer and Thomas Johansson on Tuesday, two more seeds are in danger on Wednesday.
Thomas Enqvist faces the powerful Aussie Mark Philippoussis, who accounted for Tim Henman two years ago and is the most dangerous non-seeded player.
Enqvist and Philippoussis are first up on Court One, followed by Serena Williams' match with Francesca Schiavone.
Also in jeopardy is the 12th seed Jiri Novak, who has enjoyed his best year on the tour so far, reaching the semi-final of the Australian Open in January.
Cowan was impressive in his first-round win over Attila Savolt and will hope not to go the same way as fellow Brit Jamie Delgado, who wasted four match points in the first round against Lapentti.
Tie of the day in the women's tournament is an all-French affair in which two-time Grand Slam winner Mary Pierce takes on eighth seed Sandrine Testud.
Both were taken the distance in their opening encounters, with Pierce winning 8-6 in the third against Alicia Molik.
