Supaul (Bihar), Apr 28: Coming on the heels of escape of 10 undertrials from different court lock-ups and jails in Bihar, two prisoners escaped late last night from Supaul district jail in north Bihar. Official sources stated today that the Supaul district magistrate, Sanjeev Hans, said here that two undertrials, MD Ismail and Vijay, lodged in the district jail for the past four months in connection with a dacoity case, cut the iron bars of the rear window of the overcrowded jail and escaped after scaling the walls.
Hans said that a search operation had been launched to nab the escapees.

Against a capacity to lodge 138 prisoners, the district jail is presently crammed with 413 inmates, the DM said.
Five undertrials had escaped from Patna and Darbhanga court premises on April 24 and an equal number had escaped from Lakhisarai jail on April 23.
