SC to hear Maharashtra govt appeal in Salman Khan case
New Delhi, Dec 09: Supreme Court will hear Maharashtra government`s appeal challenging a Bombay High Court order quashing the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against Bollywood star Salman Khan in the hit and run case in which one person was killed and 10 others injured.

On December 02 the court had deferred the hearing till today.
A bench of Justices N Santhosh Hegde and B P Singh adjourned the hearing on the request of counsel of the Maharashtra government and Salman Khan. The Bombay High Court had dropped the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code allowing a petition by the filmstar.
The High Court order had been challenged in the apex court by the Maharashtra government in a special leave petition. Bureau Report
