New Delhi, Dec 02: The Supreme Court today rejected a petition by Jessica Lal murder case accused Manu Sharma seeking bail. Manu Sharma surrendered before a city court on November 13, two days after the Delhi High Court rejected his application for regular bail.

The high court, while rejecting Manu's plea for regular bail had observed that "there is a long chain of circumstantial evidence linking the accused with the crime which is inconsistent with his innocence and consistent with his guilt."

Manu had been out on interim bail in the case since January 25, 2002.

Son of former Union Minister Vinod Sharma, Manu allegedly shot dead model Jessica Lall at socialite Bina Ramani's South Delhi restaurant on the night intervening April 29-30, 1999, after she refused to serve him liquor.
