Beijing, July 15: British Prime Minister Tony Blair will pay an official visit to China from July 20 to discuss with the new Chinese leadership major bilateral and international matters, including the North Korean nuclear issue, Chinese foreign ministry said today. Blair would be visiting China on the invitation of Chinese premier Wen Jiabao, foreign ministry spokesman Kong Quan told reporters here.

Blair and Wen would hold talks on bilateral ties and other regional and international issues of common concern, he said, adding the North Korean nuclear issue would be high on the agenda of talks between the two leaders. Apart from Beijing, the British Prime Minister would be visiting Shanghai, China's largest city and commercial capital, Quan said.

He would also tour Hong Kong, a former British colony which was handed over to china on July 01, 1997.

Blair would be on mainland China from July 20-22.
