“If India does not give a positive response we will review the ceasefire and probably end it, and India will be responsible for the consequences,” Hizbul spokesman Salim Hashmi told AFP. He said that a meeting of top Hizbul commanders in Islamabad on Thursday had set the deadline at 1200 GMT next Tuesday afternoon. “We have given India so much time, I think they have had enough time to consider our demand, Hashmi said. It has demanded that India, Pakistan, and Kashmiri representatives such as the separatist umbrella group, Hurriyat Conference (HC) sit down for three-way talks on the status and future of the disputed territory. “We call for result-oriented talks that should be outside the framework of Indian Constitution and include Pakistan because we believe that no durable solution to the problem can be achieved unless Islamabad also sits at the negotiating table,” Hashmi said. India has respected ceasefire but has not agreed to allow Pakistan a place at the proposed talks. Report: Zeenext Bureau
