The Lok Sabha on Wednesday witnessed noisy scenes during Question Hour when RJD members stormed the well of the house protesting against certain remarks by Minister of State for Programme Implementation Arun Shourie regarding utilisation of funds in Bihar.
The noisy scene continued for about ten minutes with RJD members repeatedly defying Speaker G M C Balayogi's plea for order and demanding an apology from the minister saying that his sweeping remarks had hurt the sensitivities of the people of Bihar. An independent member Ramdas Athawale also walked into the well supporting RJD members.

Amidst the din, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee sought to assuage the members but RJD members remained adamant and continued to demand an apology from the minister.
Vajpayee said that the minister's intention was not to hurt the feelings of members from Bihar. He was, however, not allowed to complete his remarks. At this stage, the speaker was heard warning RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh. The RJD members, who were supported by Congress, CPI-M and Samajwadi Party, did not relent despite the warning from the chair.
