New Delhi, May 28: Justice R C Chopra of the Delhi High Court today transferred the bail application of hotelier and DDA scam accused Vinod Khatri to another court which is hearing bail pleas of other accused in the case.
"Let it be transferred to the court of Justice S K
Aggarwal for hearing on May 30," Justice Chopra said as soon
as Khatri's counsel Rajinder Singh started his arguments.
However, Justice Chopra clarified that the transfer was subject to the orders of Chief Justice B C Patel.
Justice Aggarwal, who granted bail to three sacked officials - Anand Mohan Sharan, Jagdish Chander and Subhash Sharma - is likely to hear Sharma's bail plea in another case relating to the scam on Friday.
Khatri had surrendered before special judge Prem Kumar on May 7 four days after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.
The court had issued non-bailable warrant against him on May three and directed the CBI to comply with the order by May 12. Subsequently, the CBI had also issued a "look out" notice against Khatri, who owns a restaurant in south west Delhi.
CBI registered the fourth case in the DDA scam on April 29 against Khatri, sacked DDA vice chairman Subash Sharma, suspended DDA official Ashok Kapoor, main conduit Dharambir Khattar and former Delhi High Court judge Shamit Mukherjee.
