Hyderabad, Nov 30: A fortnight after dissolution of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Telugu Desam today decided to pursue its case with Election Commission for early conduct of the elections and advance deployment of additional para military forces in the state. "A delegation of TDP parliament members would represent to the Election Commission for the early conduct of assembly elections besides sending in additional forces well ahead of the polls," senior leader Yerran Naidu told reporters after the party parliamentary party meeting here.

"It would be a general representation to bring to the notice of EC about the need for an early election in the state in wake of the annual budget to be passed and other such pressing issues," he said.
The meeting, convened by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to discuss the strategy to be adopted in the winter session of the Parliament beginning on December 3, also condemned the PWG attack on Naidu near Tirupati last month.

Exact date and details of the meeting with EC would be finalised in a couple of days, he said, adding, "We will try to mount pressure on Centre for more deployment of forces well ahead of the polls in wake of recent developments."

TDP opted for dissolution of assembly 10 months ahead of its term after the attack on Naidu at Alipiri on October 1 and has planned to go for polls with development versus extremism as its main poll plank.
Election Commission, however, ruled out any possibility of elections before April plunging the political atmosphere into confusion as the annual budget has to be passed before March 31 to fulfil constitutional obligation.
