Move over the roadside udupi. What about having dosas and coconut fish in the background of lovely backwaters of Kerala? Well if you are a Mumbaikar, you still have a chance. The backwater might be an exaggeration but coconut trees, kathakali masks and waiters clad in mundu are very much there to create a feel of God`s own country. Head straight for Culture Curry Restobar. It is hosting a feast commencing from April 15 till April 30, 2001, in the form of Kerala Food Festival.
Not for nothing the National Geographic has voted Kerala as one of the must-see 50 destinations of the world. And food is certainly a part of the value additions. The festival marks the Malayalee New Year, Vishu, which is celebrated on April 14. The festival brings for all Mumbaikar foodies, delicacies from Kerala cooked traditionally by the cooks from Kerala.
Besides coconut trees and Kathakali masks, elephant with Thiruvabharanam, the garlands of Jamanthipoo, Konnapoo, traditional music in the background and hostesses draped in set saree add to the ambience. The cuisine from Kerala covers the exhaustive menu. And at prices that do not burn a hole in your pocket.
Part of profits of the food festival will be donated to Orphan Girls` Home in Kerala.
