Nagpur, Nov 14: The state Congress unit today decided to field former MLA Avinash Pande for the local bodies constituency for December 1 state legislative council poll. MPCC sources told that Pande, also party's general secretary, was selected for the nomination after a marathon meeting attended by MPCC chief Ranjeet Deshmukh, Labour Minister Satish Chaturvedi, Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education, Anees Ahmad and city Mayor Vikas Thakre along with other prominent Congress leaders. The nomination for Nagpur seat could not be decided in Mumbai till last night and a final meeting was held today at the residence of Ranjeet Deshmukh. Bureau Report
