New Delhi, May 12: A unique worldwide charity golf tournament will see nearly 3000 golfers tee off from 19 courses across four continents on June 16 to raise funds for a non-profit organisation working for underprivileged children.
The Christel House Open will be played over a day at tournament sites located throughout India, Austria, Canada, England, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, South Africa, Spain and the United States.
The first tee-off will be held here and in Bangalore simultaneously, Brandon D'souza, chief of event managers Tiger Sports Marketing, told reporters here today.
Teams of two will play in the team scramble format and there would be trophies for the first three spots.
"We will have cricketers who play golf like Kapil Dev and Ajay Jadeja besides around 100 corporates for the event. To add to the glitz and glamour, we will have Bollywood stars Jackie Shroff and Raveena Tandon play here and possible Preity Zinta at Bangalore," D'Souza said.

The entire proceeds from the event, sponsored by ING Vysya, would be utilised for the new Christel House Learning Center in Hennur, Bangalore.

Christel house is a public charity founded in 1998 by Christel Dehaan and it looks after the overall development of the underprivileged children including education and health.

Kapil Dev, who was also present for the launch of this initiative, said he was thrilled to be a part of this noble endeavour.
