Madurai, Feb 08: The MDMK today said that it would take a final decision on offering suggestions to rectify the 'deficiencies' in Pota only after the Supreme Court delivered its verdict on the suit filed by party leader Vaiko.

MDMK leader and Union Minister of State for Finance Gingee Ramachandran, who visited party workers in Madurai central prison, was replying to questions from reporters on whether the MDMK continued to support the Pota in its present form or would press for removing the 'deficiencies’.
He said that the MDMK has asked its workers at Sattankulam to take up instances of alleged election malpractices and irregularities with the election commission and also report it to the party high command.

Replying to a question on central aid for drought relief work in Tamil Nadu in view of the 'unprecedented' situation, Ramachandran said that deputy prime minister L K Advani would take up the issue after the drought inspection committee submitted its report. "I will get the maximum possible amount for drought relief work in Tamil Nadu."
He said that the party would extend all help to family members of MDMK functionaries, lodged in prison under Pota.
