Lucknow, Jan 24: A local court today reserved its verdict on a revision petition filed by former Uttar Pradesh Minister Amarmani Tripathi, prime accused in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case, against taking cognizance of the chargesheet filed by CBI. Additional sessions judge Piyushkumar, after hearing the arguments of the counsel of Tripathi and CBI, fixed January 27 for judgement. Earlier, a revision petition was filed on behalf of Amarmani Tripathi by his counsel, Vijai Vikram, stating that the incharge special judicial magistrate (CBI) has no jurisdiction to take cognisance in this case, because he was not appointed as special judicial magistrate. The special council CBI, P K Chaubey, submitted that the order was fully valid and justified and there was no illegality in the order of the magistrate dated December 20 last. Bureau Report
