Mumbai, July 10: A negligible role in Fiza, two item numbers and now a full fledged role in Qayamat. You have struggled your way into the Bollywood... Not exactly. It wasn't very difficult for me. After Khallas, offers started coming in.

What made you do Khallas in Company?

See, to be honest even I was not sure that I could do it. I asked Ramu why he wanted me. He told me that it's not a vulgar number and that he wanted a vulnerable and innocent face for the song. And that's what people say I have.

Does the sex symbol tag bother you?

Not really. It's the perception of the audience and media. After Khallas, I asked my cousin whether it was vulgar and she said it was not. And I never do vulgar things on screen. It is very difficult to do sexy songs without looking negative. I'm sure of what I'm doing.

There are a number of new faces coming up in the film industry everyday. Does the stiff competition bothers you?

The competition is no doubt there but I believe that if you are doing a good job and the audience has accepted you then there is no need to worry.

But don't you think people have accepted you only as an item dancer and not as an actress? Till now I haven't done many roles and people have seen me only in item numbers. But now I'm doing full fledged roles and I'm sure that I'll emerge as an actress rather than a dancer.

How do your parents react to you exposing in films?

My parents are not that conservative. They were a bit shocked when they saw me in Khallas but then they accepted the fact that I've to wear certain kind of clothes, if I'm doing films. They have been very supportive through out.

What do you love to do in your free time?

I love to eat a lot. Though it is very much against my profession, I love biryani, ice creams and sweets.

Then how have you maintained your figure?

For that I work out at least one and a half hour daily.
