New Delhi, Nov 30: Nasdaq listed Sify is exploring the possibility of starting network services for overseas clients mainly in US as part of which it may undertake offshore network management activities. "We are looking at network services in overseas market in the space of IP-VPN (internet based virtual private networks)," George Zacharias, president and chief operating officer of Sify Ltd said here.

Sify currently offers its network service in India.

"In terms of market, US is most attractive and in a way it is offshoring which would save money for us companies in network management," he said. He said the plans were still at an "early stage" and Sify may take some steps towards materialising them in the current financial year.

The company currently offers a host of services including dial up service, broadband over cable service, video conferencing, voice over IP and WIFI.

He said that the company would look into the possibility of launching a domestic IPO "if conditions are right".

On Sify's strategy for inorganic growth, he said, "we keep looking at acquisitions, from the point of view of enhancing value to shareholders and our strategic requirements".

Zacharias declined to comment on quantum of investments earmarked for the current financial year.

He said Sify would hike investment in WI-FI and video conferencing in the coming years, in addition to IP-VPN, cyber cafe and e-learning business.
