Patna, June 13: Asserting that he would go by the high command's decision to continue ties with RJD, the new Bihar Congress president Ram Jatan Sinha today said the party would not hesitate in launching agitation on the issue of law and order and development. "Continuance of Congress alliance with RJD in Bihar is the decision of party high command. I will go by the high command's decision. But, Congress will not hesitate to launch protest on the issue of law and order situation or developmental matters," Sinha told party workers after assuming charge as Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president here.
"I am neither pro-Laloo nor anti-Laloo. I am a dedicated worker of Congress and will work to strengthen the party in Bihar," Sinha said. The new BPCC chief said, "People are not happy with the RJD in Bihar and NDA is a spent force. They see Congress as the only alternative. We will work to fulfil the expectation of the people."
Sinha, a former Bihar minister and thrice member of state assembly in the past, said, "We would try to regain Congress' past glory and win back the support of voters." Former party state president and minister Shakeel Ahmed welcomed Sonia Gandhi's decision to appoint Sinha as BPCC chief and assured him all cooperation.
