Washington, May 27: The U.S. is preparing to send a team of about ten State Department and intelligence officials to the Middle East to help rebuild Palestinian security forces and improve their ability to curb suicide attacks, a senior State Department official said today. The contingent, the official added, could be bolstered in future.
Israel has refused to have any talks with the Palestinians unless and until they stop terrorist attacks.
The suicide bombers are called freedom fighters by most Palestinians and the families receive financial help when a suicide bomber blows himself or herself up killing Israelis. Bureau Report
