Bouncing back to winning form, World Junior Champion Koneru Humpy defeated Im Albert Bokros in the fifth round to leap to the third spot at the First Saturday GM Chess tournament being played at Budapest.
Humpy, after settling for a hard-fought draw with top seed Jozsef Horvath (Hungary) in the fourth round, found her rhythm back to trounce the Hungarian international master and emerge with 2.5 points after the fifth round.
Aspiring for her Third GM norm, Humpy would face Im Attila Czebe of Hungary in the sixth round of the 13-round category IX tournament.
Ilincic Zlatko of Yugoslavia, despite losing in the fifth round, maintains the lead of 3.5 points along with second seed Berkes Fernc, Attila Czebe (both Hungary) and Andreas Schenk (Germany). The other Indian player, Tejas Bakre, alongwith Adam Horvath of Hungary are in the joint second spot with 3 points each. Bureau Report
