Nagaland CM calls on Vajpayee
New Delhi, June 10: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and thanked him for the grant of Rs 365 crore to the state to cover the accumulated deficit and for inclusion of Dikhu power project in Centre`s plan for harnessing hydro-power in the country.
New Delhi, June 10: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and thanked him for the grant of Rs 365 crore to the state to cover the accumulated deficit and for inclusion of Dikhu power project in Centre's plan for harnessing hydro-power in the country.
Rio invited Vajpayee to visit Nagaland in October, a state government press release said here and added the Prime Minister accepted the invitation. The dates of the visit will be decided later.
The chief minister sought Vajpayee's intervention for approval of Central investment in the Rs 339 crore revival plan for the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company at Tuli.
Rio also requested early sanction for the airport project at Tseithou in Kohima and Dimapur-Kohima expressway.
The chief minister also had a meeting with Union Tourism and Culture minister Jagmohan in connection with the second world war museum project at Kohima, the release added.
