Itanagar, Mar 24: In the wake of the Congress government in the state going for the cancellation of the upcoming panchayati raj elections in Tirap district citing deteriorating law and order situation, BJP has asked the governor to intervene in the issue. In a memorandum submitted to the Governor Arvind Dave here yesterday, a copy of which was released to the press today, BJP alleged that the state government, after realising that Congress candidates were likely to lose in the polls scheduled for April 2, had asked the state election commissioner to cancel the entire election process in Tirap district. "There was no report of deteriorating law and order situation in the recent past", the memorandum said. Bureau Report
