New Delhi, Aug 05: In an attempt to give a fillip to development projects in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Arjun Munda tonight reviewed the ongoing schemes at a meeting convened by him and attended by his cabinet colleagues and Union Ministers and MPs from the state. The meeting was held after Munda met Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Union Ministers Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj and Jagmohan earlier in the day. Asked about the purpose of holding the meeting outside the state, Munda told reporters that since Parliament was in session all the central ministers and MPs from the state were available only in Delhi. That is why he asked his cabinet colleagues to come over to Delhi to examine the projects threadbare and get them expedited, he said. To a question, Munda said that during his meeting with Vajpayee he invited the Prime Minister to Ranchi to attend a function to mark the third anniversary of Jharkhand on November 15. During his courtesy call on President A P J Abdul Kalam yesterday, he had also invited him to visit the state.
Munda has asked his cabinet colleagues to utilise their stay in Delhi by meeting their respective Union Ministers and taking up with them pending projects so that they can be cleared as early as possible for speedy development of the state. Bureau Report
