Jammu, Jan 02: The Army today busted 15 militant hideouts and recovered nearly 2000 kgs of ration in a surgical operation in Poonch hills of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here. Acting on specific information that militants were building bunker-type fortifications in Surankote Hills adjacent to the Hill Kaka belt in Poonch district, the army launched the operation yesterday, they said, adding it continued till this morning. After searches at Hari Bhudda hills in Surankote belt, jawans zeroed in on 15 hideouts and launched an attack. However, the hiding militants managed to escape after an encounter in which one jawan was injured, the sources said. The hideouts were destroyed by the army men. Nearly 2000 kgs of ration were recovered from these hideouts including 700 kgs of rice, gas cylinders and three gas ovens were recovered, they said. Bureau Report
