Chandigarh, July 09: Union MoS for Home I D Swami today said the BJP-led NDA government had given a "golden opportunity" to Pakistan to create a conducive atmosphere for dialogue by extending a "hand of friendship". "We have given them(Pak) another chance and it is for them to create a conducive atmosphere under which the dialogue process can start and progress," Swami said when asked how soon a dialogue process between the two countries could begin.

Asked if infiltration from across the border had stopped, he said that it was still on.
On certain media reports suggesting that operation Sarp Vinash (Hill Kaka), the high profile counter-terrorist operation, was not genuine, he said these allegations are "baseless".
Swami said Centre would be raising 45 new CRPF batallions to ease pressure on BSF which was also doing the job of providing internal security. Bureau Report
