New Delhi, July 31: The BJP today said that National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) petitioning the Supreme Court for a fresh trial outside Gujarat in the controversial Best Bakery and four other "serious" cases relating to Godhra and its aftermath would "vitiate" the communal atmosphere in the state.
"The situation in the state is now normal and nothing should be done which would disrupt it and this kind of move would only vitiate the atmosphere," party spokesman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said here.
He said that while BJP is "for justice to all those who have suffered due to the riots and punishing the guilty but not for politicising these issues."
This kind of action by the NHRC would only "disrupt the atmosphere in the state," he added.
