Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov would visit Pakistan by the end of this year, media reports on Wednesday said. As a continuation of recently initiated high-level contacts between Pakistan and Russia, officials in Islamabad attach great importance to Ivanov's visit to boost Pak-Russian ties, the media reports quoted Pakistani officials as saying.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Abdul Sattar extended the invitation to his Russian counterpart to visit Pakistan, during their meeting in New York on the sidelines of UN General Assembly Session. The Russian foreign minister accepted the invitation and the dates in this regard are being finalised. Officials said that Ivanov's visit would further improve the relations between the two countries.
