Five official bodyguards of the jailed controversial independent MLA of Bihar, Munna Shukla have been suspended for allowing him to roam about freely, Bihar Director General of Police R R Prasad said, on Saturday. The policemen were suspended for allowing Shukla to go to Lalganj despite being in judicial custody, Prasad told PTI.

Vaishali SP Shobha Ahotkar had intercepted the legislator on Friday while he was on a visit to his constituency. Shukla, is in judicial custody for his alleged involvement in the murder of former Bihar minister Brij Bihari Prasad and was brought in Patna on Friday from Muzaffarpur to appear before a special CBI court in connection with the case.
