Usha Beltron Limited, manufacturer of wire rope, steel, and jelly-filled copper cable, has achieved record production at its various facilities in Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Silvassa for the month of December. Company sources said that the company is incurring a capital expenditure of Rs 80 crore to enhance steel production capacity from 2.2 lakh tonnes to 3.5 lakh tonnes by the end of the financial year.
Usha Beltron is currently working out its de-bottlenecking plans to increase the wire rope manufacturing capacity at Ranchi from 7000 tonnes per metre to 10,000 tonnes per metre by the end of 2001.

“The newly-commissioned Jamshedpur power plant had operated more than 90 per cent PLF,” sources said.
On the export front, the company is making efforts to create distribution and marketing outlets in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Bangladesh.

The acquisition of Brinton Shaw in UK would help Usha Beltron in getting more international markets for the wire rope business, sources said.
