The nine Left parties in Andhra Pradesh would intensify their agitation against the hike in power tariff and oil prices by organising state-wide dharnas from second week of this month. Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Tuesday, CPI(M) leader M Omkar said that the Left parties would organise dharnas and protest programmes throughout the state from village and mandal level. Earlier, he also released a video cassette highlighting police repression on Left party activists during the ‘Chalo Assembly’ rally in Hyderabad recently. Bureau Report
