BJP Delhi unit President Mange Ram Garg on Saturday demanded resignation of the Sheila Dikshit led Congress government in the capital accusing it of total failure on all fronts, particularly on the issue of relocation of polluting industrial units. Garg also urged the chief minister to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the situation arising out of the Supreme Court directive to shift polluting units from the capital's residential areas within four weeks.
Charging the government with inefficiency, incompetence and corruption, Garg told reporters, "She (Dikshit) does not know Delhi, its people or problems. She should own moral responsibility for her misrule and step down." "Instead of scoring political points on a humanitarian issue, the government should call an all-party meeting to discuss the problem and come out with solutions," he said.
"The power and water supply situation has gone from bad to worse and unemployment has reached its peak," Garg alleged. "Even the Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly Chaudhary Prem Singh has written to the chief minister about the water and power problems in his constituency," the BJP leader said. The BJP, he said, would wage a struggle to end the Congress misrule in the capital.
