Reports from Dhaka say that in affected districts floods have caused a disaster of unprecedented proportions, because these south-western districts had been flood free and people were not used to facing such a calamity.
Their Aman crops has been damaged and the mostly mud-walled houses have collapsed, the people of the affected areas in the eight border districts have also lost household articles and other valuables.
