Sheikh Hasina, the Bangladesh PM has said that her country would remain responsive to any call by the UN for peacekeeping operations in any country, reports said in Banladesh. "Bangladesh has been always responding to the call of peacekeeping operations with total respect as peace is one of her main principles of foreign policy," she said while inaugurating a six-day seminar in Dhaka. Sheikh Hasina referred to the challenges of the 21st century with the latest advancement of science, technology and competitiveness and said the countries of South Asia were facing new competitions in the changing world. She said that the end of the Cold War has brought about qualitative changes in the international politics and created newer conflicts. She reminded the participants to be very careful about this and show more strategic skills in peacekeeping operations. Bureau Report
