A series of earthquakes shook southern Taiwan early today, no damage or injuries were immediately reported.
The first quake was the strongest, with a magnitude of 5.3. The tremor was followed by two others - with magnitudes of 4.6 and 4.8 in the same general location, about seven kms west of Tainan, Taiwan's fourth largest city, about 200 kms southwest of capital Taipei. Bureau Report
