Asia's biggest Information Technology event in cyber capital concluded in Banglore on Sunday as IT companies wrapped up deals and some three lakh people visited it during the five-day mega show.
The third edition of "bangalore it.com 2000" saw the participation of a record 376 companies, 500 foreign delegates, 60,000 business visitors and three lakh general visitors.

B V Naidu, director, software technology parks of India (STPI) told reporters that according to a sample analysis business worth $30 millions to $40 millions has been generated through STPI stalls themselves. By next week, a clear picture about the deals would emerge.

The second edition of the event last year had generated business to the tune of Rs 250 crore and attracted 247 companies, 40,000 business visitors and two lakh general visitors.
Singapore, Britain, Japan, Germany, Sweden and Belgium took part in a big way in the event, whereas states like Andhra Pradesh, which is trying to catch up with Karnataka in the IT sector, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and West Bengal, among others, had to do the hard sell. Key figures who attended the event include British e-commerce Minister Patricia Hewitt, US ambassador to India Richard Celeste and Infotech Czars N R Narayana Murthy (Infosys) and Azim Premji (WIPRO), and chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Digvijay Singh.
