The election commission would release the final electoral rolls for Assam on January 1, 2001 as the qualifying date, on January 30 next, official sources said in Guwahati on Tuesday.The commission had earlier ordered for summary revision of electoral rolls of all the 126 assembly constituencies.
The draft publication of the rolls would be made on December 12 next while the period for filing claims would be from December 12 to December 27, they said. Bureau Report
