Bonanza of MOUs signed in partnership summit
The three-day partnership summit, the flagship event of CII, concluded in Hyderabad on Thursday with the host state Andhra Pradesh displaying deft marketing skills and firming up memoranda of understanding for 70 projects worth about Rs 36,000 crores.

Attended by over 800 delegates from 26 countries representing the cream of corporate sector, the summit sent out a strong message for blending the old and new economies, strengthening public-private partnerships, removing infrastructure bottlenecks and leveraging it strengths to help India emerge as a global super power.
It was the first time that a state government co-hosted partnership summit and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made a hard sell of the state's investment potential.
Speaking in a tone that went down well with the audience comprising captains of the industry and policy makers, Naidu offered to depute 'escort executives' for each investment project to coordinate with developers and to ensure expeditious government clearances.

Of the 70 projects for which MOUs were signed, 27 pertained to infrastructure, industries and commerce department, 19 to tourism while 17 projects covered Information Technology and communications areas.
