Police and Para-Military Forces were deployed following clashes between two groups of students and subsequent firing by police in which three people were injured in Rajouri district of Jammu division on Saturday, official sources said. They said that two groups of students of a degree college in Rajouri clashed with each other over the college election issue. However, following intervention by some staff members the matter subsided. Later, the groups clashed again outside the college premises in which one student was seriously injured. The sources said that police, posted outside the college premises, used lathi charge and bust tear gas shells to disperse the groups. As the situation went out of control, the police opened fire in which two students were injured. The injured students were rushed to Jammu for treatment, the sources said. Bureau Report
