Th Supreme Court will announce its judgment on the release of 121 TADA detenus today. The release of the TADA detenus and five other extremists from Tamil Nadu is one of the major demands of forest brigand Veerappan for freeing Kannada matinee idol Rajkumar and three others who have been held hostage from July 30. Tamil Nadu has roped in N. Natarajan (who handled the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case) to argue the case for the release of the extremists. Karnataka Law Minister D.B. Chandre Gowda is in Delhi for the case. Both States are pinning their hopes on the Oct 11 judgment of the Supreme Court for the release of Rajkumar, as Veerappan has ruled out the actor’s release until the prisoners were set free.
