"Congress has emerged as a strong opposition in Gujarat. We will have to see how they serve people while also playing their role of the opposition," Hardik said.

Raking up the allegation of EVM tampering yet again, he said that VVPAT slips must be re-counted if there are complaints by candidates. "Whatever Election Commission says cannot be the be all and end all. If a candidate says there have been issues with EVMs, the VVPAT slips must be re-counted by the Commission," he added.

Hardik has been alleging that the BJP played an unfair game by tampering with EVMs and using money power. He had backed the Congress in the polls, and said that the party would have won had the BJP not "indulged in cheating".

Patel had insisted that EVMs can also be "hacked" like ATMs. "I congratulate the BJP which has won by tampering with the EVMs. Though people of Gujarat had taken a decision (of uprooting the BJP), the ruling party won through money power and by tampering with EVMs," Patel had said.
