20-year-old Malaysian girl with multiple moles auditions for Miss Universe!
The young girl is defying her tormentors and has now taken the bold step of auditioning for Miss Universe Malaysia.
New Delhi: A 20-year-old young girl from Malaysia was relentlessly bullied and branded as a 'monster' and 'chocolate chip cookie' because of her head-to-toe hairy moles.
The young girl is defying her tormentors and has now taken the bold step of auditioning for Miss Universe Malaysia.
According to a report in Daily Main, Evita Delmundo was born with large, hairy dark brown moles covering her face and body as well as her birth mark across her neck and shoulders.
Specialists have said that it is not a rare medical condition and are simply ordinary moles.
During Evita's school days, her cruel classmates tormented her because of the lumps. But after attending secondary school, she began to gain confidence as other pupils accepted her.
Talking to Daily Mail, Evita said that she felt lonely and very sad at that time. The bullying left her heartbroken and withdrawn.
Singing lessons and learning how to play the guitar helped her gain confidence and become more at ease with herself.
The 20-year-old once dreamed of having her moles removed, but when doctors warned that the surgery could put her health at risk, she decided to accept her appearance.
"I learnt to accept my birthmarks and love myself. I slowly gained confidence to show off my uniqueness," she told the Daily Mail.
She auditioned for the beauty pageant on June 17 and is waiting for the result. She even got to meet last year’s winner Samantha Katie James.
Evita Delmundo hopes her story and attitude will inspire others to accept their bodies.
