Hayden Cross, born Paige and raised as a girl, said he had been bombarded with death threats after exclusively revealing his experience of becoming a dad.

Cross, who has been living as man for more than three years and taking hormones, became pregnant in September using an anonymous sperm donor. He recently revealed he had given birth to his daughter Trinity-Leigh on June 16. The girl was born via caesarean section at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

“Shes perfect in every way, she is so good. I'm so lucky," Cross, from Gloucester, was quoted as saying.

He halted his gender transition programme after the NHS refused to freeze his eggs - which he hoped would enable him to have children in the future.

The new dad said that he would support his newborn daughter Trinity-Leigh Cross if she was transgender but would not bring her up as gender neutral.

“I just want her to be happy and content in who she is. I wouldn’t want to register her as gender neutral because she is a little girl, just because I am trans it doesn’t mean she will be,” he told The Sun.

The former supermarket worker would restart the transition programme next month. He also plans to have his breasts removed next year before finally having his ovaries taken out.

Thomas Beatie became the first trans man to give birth in the US in 2008. He had a partial sex change but kept his womb and was able to conceive.
